Technology Evaluation Centers (TEC) Launches New Software Selection Website to Provide Information for Companies Seeking Assistance with their Software Selection Projects

Visitors can learn about best practices for software selection and assessment on TEC’s site.

Technology Evaluation Centers (TEC) is pleased to announce that its newly designed software selection website is now live. The new section on TEC’s website details best practices and the methodology used by TEC’s software selection experts and features case studies from companies who have successfully selected the best-fit software for their organization with TEC’s assistance.

Organizations looking to assess their current software systems or acquire a new one can read more about the programs and services TEC offers to assist them in succeeding in their IT objectives. Best practices and methodologies to help reduce the risk, costs, and time associated with selecting or assessing software have been developed by TEC’s software selection experts over the past 20 years.

The demand for assistance with a software selection or assessment project has been steadily increasing in recent years. Every year, billions of dollars are wasted on software solutions that do not effectively support an organization’s needs. Visitors can gather information and make use of the online tools and services on the TEC website, most of which are provided free of charge, and can also talk to a TEC software selection consultant for more specific questions or advice.

Lorne Goloff, vice president of TEC software selection services, says, “So many companies end up with the wrong software that we’ve created a whole range of programs based on lessons learned and best practices to help them avoid that kind of negative outcome. Our new software selection site details this information and hopefully is the starting point for organizations on the path to a successful software selection.”

TEC’s software selection and assessment programs include the following:

1)    Software Capabilities Program— delivers a clear picture of how well an organization’s software is supporting its business, and whether a new system implementation is required.

2)    Standard Evaluation Project—helps organizations define and prioritize their functional and technical requirements and compare potential solutions to see which one best supports their needs.

3)    Custom Evaluation and Selection Project—allows organizations to examine and compare software solutions at a granular level before committing to a software acquisition.

4)    Extended Evaluation and Selection Project—enables organizations to determine how well different software solutions support their requirements, including features and functions, total costs, and support system.

5)     Software Architecture Lifestyle Management—helps organizations blueprint their overall enterprise software system(s) to pinpoint gaps and redundancies and determine resource requirements to be able to take a structured approach to optimizing their overall system.

PEAR Sports Develops Interactive Fitness App For Lindora Weight Loss Patients & Others Seeking To Improve Their Health

Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) April 08, 2015

PEAR Sports, the leading developer of audio-based coaching technology, is partnering with Lindora, the largest medically supervised weight loss program in the U.S., to introduce an interactive personalized training app that offers users customized exercise plans while tracking their progress. Scheduled for release on April 8, the official Lindora Lean for Life! Fitness App goes beyond others in the marketplace, as it offers real-time audio fitness coaching and motivation through the user’s iPhone. In addition, it keeps them on track, motivates them and records their progress.

The exercise plans were developed by fitness leaders Robert Reames, head trainer, nutritionist and lifestyle consultant for “The Dr. Phil Show,” and Jenny Hadfield, celebrated author and authority on running and regular columnist for runnersworld.com. They focus on heart rate-based training, which has long been acknowledged as one of the most accurate and effective methods for helping users reach their goals.

The Lindora Lean for Life! Fitness App offers a library of customized exercise plans for those at any fitness level and delivers real-time stats like time, distance, heart rate, current zone, pace, calories burned and more. It also allows users to track and share their progress and results.

“The workouts are based on how your heart responds to exercise,” said Reames. “The Official Lindora Lean for Life! Fitness app guides you step by step, telling you when to speed up or slow down, provides useful tips to improve your form, explains the purpose and benefits of the workout and keeps you motivated. Another great feature is you don’t have to calculate or remember any numbers to perform your workouts effectively as the app will do it all for you.”

“Lindora has more than 40 years of experience helping patients lose weight through a proven treatment program involving proper diet, managing stress and moving more,” said Anthony Tavaglione, director of product management and operations, who added that the app is the “logical extension” of Lindora’s one-on-one, personalized approach to patient care. “The official Lindora Lean for Life! Fitness App was designed to make the ‘moving more’ part of that formula easier, more fun and more effective. Our expert, world-class coaches will guide users through each workout giving them all the encouragement and tips they will need to make it fun and effective.”

“We’re delighted to offer a game-changing new tool that will make it easier and more fun for people to become and stay active,” said Lindora President and CEO Cynthia Stamper Graff. “This app is engaging, easy to use and will have a really positive impact on those committed to losing weight and becoming more active.”

Indianapolis Organization Tangram Supports Students Seeking Employment this Disability Employment Awareness Month

Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) October 24, 2014

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month, and latest unemployment numbers tell us that the national unemployment rate for individuals with a disability is close to double the rate of individuals without a disability.

To Scott McGuire, a graduating senior at the University of Indianapolis with severe dyslexia, these numbers hit closer to home. McGuire is looking forward to finding a job and living on his own after graduation, but now the same disability that made school a challenge may keep him from getting being employed. Thankfully, the solution to his employment may come from the same place as his academic success.

McGuire has found help through a life coach, Megan, who works with him through Tangram, a local organization committed to supporting individuals with disabilities. Megan understands his individual goals and has helped him develop individualized plans to meet his goals and take on his future. McGuire describes Megan as someone who partners with him and helps him find strategies to be successful academically and in other areas of life.

“She’s helped me with diet, health, academics and setting goals. She helps me do want I need to have an independent and happy life,” McGuire says.

Steve O’Dore, the head of Tangram’s life coaching program, says Tangram’s program helps fill in the gaps for students with disabilities so they can be successful and independent after they’re finished with school. Tangram life coaches are available to students like Scott through a grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. The grant funded services for 5 high school students and 5 middle school students in the Indianapolis area.

McGuire knows that finding a job after graduation will not be easy, but with Megan’s help, he’s taking steps now to ensure his transition is successful.

About Tangram

Tangram has served individuals with disabilities for over 30 years. Tangram Life Coaching helps support individuals with a disability by creating distinct plans based on individual goals, whether they are related to employment, living independently or overall health and wellness. Tangram helps build better businesses through a commitment to diversity.
