Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) January 31, 2015

Coquitlam Physiotherapy Clinic, Absolute PhysioCare & Sports Rehab, has recently announced that its highly qualified team of physiotherapists now draws up individualized post-surgical recovery plans for each patient, based on their personal conditions and goals. These personalized rehabilitation plans acknowledge that each patient is different and, hence, requires a unique treatment plan that will help them recover and reach their pre-injury state.

“We are equipped with a bright, spacious rehabilitation gym where our energetic and positive physiotherapists will help you through the steps of the post surgical rehabilitation process,” states a representative from the Coquitlam Physio Clinic. “Our physiotherapists will provide you with appropriate range of motion, stabilization, and strength exercises which will help you gain back independence and function. In order to make sure that your care is as complete as possible, we will also obtain reports from your orthopedic surgeon after your surgery and when needed provide progress reports to your surgeon to make sure that your progress is on track and that you have a successful outcome.”

As a result, physiotherapy can act as an excellent recovery agent for rehabilitation after a wide array of orthopedic surgeries, including ACL reconstruction rehabilitation, total knee replacements rehabilitation, spinal surgery rehabilitation, hip replacement and hip arthroscopy rehabilitation and many more that can be found at

Bridgetown Physical Therapy Begins New Rehabilitation Program for Cancer Survivors This December

Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) December 09, 2014

As of Dec. 1, Bridgetown Physical Therapy and Training Studio now offers cancer survivors a rehabilitation program for overcoming the physical barriers resulting from cancer treatment. Lead by Doctor Mark Hatfield, PT, DPT, the program helps survivors transition into a long term recovery and return to normal life activities.

As musculoskeletal experts, physical therapists are trained to identify dysfunction in the body and restore movement. Cancer survivors have unique physiological changes following cancer treatment that affects physical activity and movement. At Bridgetown Physical Therapy and Training Studio each client receives an individual plan of care with respect to their cancer treatment and medications. The program includes evidence-based exercises specifically for cancer survivors during and following cancer treatment. Additionally, it designs a long term home exercise plan.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) have developed physical activity guidelines for cancer survivors as a result from a growing body of research that shows multiple benefits of exercise. These benefits include improvements in survival rates, physical function, aerobic capacity, strength, flexibility, quality of life, and less fatigue. There is also consistent evidence that exercise is safe during and after cancer treatment.

“I believe our clinic is a perfect platform for this population,” said co-owner Mark Hatfield. “It provides specialized medical care in a clean and enjoyable private gym environment.”
