Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2015
Kurbo Health, which offers the first mobile weight loss program for children and teens, has announced the addition of veteran digital health and mobile marketing expert Mike Zhang as Chief Marketing Officer.
Before joining Kurbo, Zhang held various marketing leadership roles in organizations such as Smart Destinations (mobile travel), AboveStress (mobile app), Diet.com/Diet Health (online wellness), and Procter & Gamble (Women’s Health).
According to Kurbo founder Joanna Strober, Zhang’s hiring signifies the company’s continued commitment to accelerating growth in both B2C and B2B channels.
“We are excited to have Mike on board to lead our consumer marketing effort. One in three kids under 18 are either overweight or obese, yet many parents don’t even realize their kids are struggling with weight-related health and emotional issues. Kurbo can make a difference in the lives of millions of children and families by providing the coaching and support they need,” Strober explained. “With Mike leading marketing, we will be able to extend our message to more people about the life-changing benefits of Kurbo.”
A recent Kurbo pilot study showed that 88% of kids reduced their BMI at a healthy rate after using Kurbo coaching and its mobile app. These kids also reported higher levels of happiness, self-confidence, and self esteem. Moreover, parents said they are fighting less with their kids about food, are less stressed, and that their kids are experiencing higher levels of confidence than before.
Zhang said, “I am excited to join a team of seasoned entrepreneurs and behavioral coaches who are leveraging mobile technology to address challenging personal health issues. Kurbo’s health coaching and mobile app are helping children develop healthy lifestyles that can have a lifelong impact on their wellbeing and happiness.”
