BeyondCurious Launches Program to Incubate Employee Innovation

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 26, 2015

BeyondCurious (, an innovation agency that creates mobile experiences, today announced the launch of the BeyondCurious Academy, an employee development and mentoring program focused on innovation. The Academy is an incubator designed to develop the talent needed to innovate in the mobile age by teaching employees how to flourish in a non-linear, unstructured environment.

“Innovation is about breaking barriers to create exponential value, yet traditional talent development approaches too often fail to foster innovation because they are designed for a structured and linear environment,” said Nikki Barua, CEO of BeyondCurious. “Consequently, an ‘innovation gap’ exists between the type of talent businesses need to succeed and the available talent in the marketplace. BeyondCurious Academy will close that gap.”

Barua noted that the pace of innovation disruption is so high in today’s economy that companies will succeed when they attract and retain people that are effective in solving problems with no prior frames of reference.

BeyondCurious Academy is designed to empower both experienced and inexperienced hires with the skill sets and mindset needed to innovate for clients in the mobile age. Participants will learn through workshops on new innovation techniques and tools, exercises to foster creative thinking and problem solving when faced with extreme constraints, and business mentoring to bring out their entrepreneurial spirit.

BeyondCurious Academy will also teach new hires how to think rather than what to think. For example, a project manager who is accustomed to working with specific timelines, resources and goals will learn how to plan and solve problems in an environment where new ideas and discoveries shift project priorities all the time.

“Our employees seek the autonomy to try new things, the connection to a bigger purpose, and the environment for learning and growth, and our clients count on us to help them innovate ahead of their competition,” said Barua. “The goal of the BeyondCurious Academy is to help our clients succeed by developing our people into industry-leading innovators.”

The agency also announced today the appointment of Amanda Schonfeld as director of talent acquisition for recruitment and people development. Schonfeld was previously with SapientNitro, where she was responsible for managing the North American hiring team.

“An innovative workforce is a combination of the right talent acquisition and the right talent development,” said Barua. “Amanda has the vision and experience to bring in people with the mindset for innovation so that we can unlock their potential with BeyondCurious Academy”

Medway, MA (PRWEB) April 08, 2015

Cybex International, a leading manufacturer of premium exercise equipment, has been nominated for the prestigious FIBO Innovation Award for the Cybex Eagle NX Back Extension. As a FIBO Innovation Award winner in 2012 for the Bravo Functional Trainer, Cybex is proud to be nominated again.

The Eagle NX Back Extension is part of the super premium 15-piece Eagle NX strength line, and features refined movements, restyled aesthetics and reimagined user features – while offering extreme durability and advanced biomechanics.

“The Eagle NX Back Extension does a superior job of integrating all of the back muscles, from the shoulders to the lumbar spine,” said Dr. Paul Juris, Executive Director of the Cybex Research Institute. “It also has a unique counter balance which helps maintain the resistance through the entire range of motion.”

The Eagle NX Back Extension employs a curved lumbar pad to encourage optimal spinal range of motion, and to promote controlled movement from fully flexed into extension. A two-position lumbar pad allows users to train hip extension, lumbar extension or both at the same time. Meanwhile, the patent pending counterbalancing system offsets the user’s weight for more consistent loading and greater effectiveness.

In 2015, Cybex is also unveiling new innovations in strength, cardio and service.

In the strength category, Cybex introduces Prestige Strength VRS. This 21-piece line of selectorized strength equipment provides a premium strength option for facilities seeking an exceptionally versatile, user-friendly strength solution for “walkup and workout” users. Visually striking, truly innovative, durable, and biomechanically correct, Prestige Strength VRS has been engineered to surpass other manufacturers’ premium strength lines. The line will be available in the spring of 2015.

In the cardio category, Cybex introduces the SPARC Trainer. The SPARC Trainer is designed to meet the soaring popularity of high intensity interval training, and is Cybex’s quickest, safest, and most effective cardio experience ever. Delivering five benefits in four minutes, SPARC 1) burns calories, 2) strengthens and shapes the lower body, 3) increases stamina, 4) increases strength, and 5) enhances endurance – all while being biomechanically correct and gentle on the user’s joints. SPARC will be available in the summer of 2015.

Lastly, in the service category, Cybex introduces Cybex Care, a web-based asset management system designed to help gym owners save money, reduce equipment downtime and manage machine usage. This truly useful feature will be available on all Cybex 500, 600 and 700 Cardio Series. To complement Cybex Care, Cybex is also introducing Service Wheel, an easy to engage third wheel that allows gym staff to rotate, relocate, maintain, and clean Cybex treadmills – simply, safely, and quickly. Cybex Care and Service Wheel are available now.

Freeport, New York (PRWEB) March 26, 2015

Trak Fitness LLC, a leader in functionally advanced fitness equipment, is pleased to announce that its TrakBar Pro-X cable attachment / pull-up bar has been nominated for the 2015 FIBO Innovation Award.

The FIBO Innovation Award is the most prestigious award in the fitness industry. For 16 years, FIBO, the largest international trade show in the fitness and wellness industry, has presented the Innovation Award to the world’s most inventive fitness products. The TrakBar Pro-X is one of three products selected for the “Training Equipment” category from a total of 70 participating products.

The TrakBar Pro-X is the first and only cable attachment / pull-up bar that includes multi-axis handles which travel along the length of the bar and automatically adjust to the user’s natural hand, arm and shoulder movements. With unrestricted mobility, users can perform a wide range of new rotational cable pull and pull-up exercises that are not possible with any other exercise equipment.

The handles can be locked in any position along the length of the bar with a single switch. “We are honored to be nominated for this prestigious award.” said David Kristiansen, President of Trak Fitness LLC. “Our company’s mission is to provide truly innovative equipment to help our customers excel in their fitness goals. This nomination recognizes the passion that goes into our products.”

The TrakBar Pro-X will be exhibited in Hall 7, Stand B20 by Scotfit GmbH, which is the exclusive distributor for Trak Fitness equipment in Germany. Pleasanton, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2015

Steelwedge, the leader in cloud supply chain planning and sales and operations planning (S&OP) solutions, today announced that it has received $ 22.5M in new growth capital led by Camden Partners. Other investors include return backer Mainsail Partners and Shea Ventures. New CEO Pervinder Johar is also investing personally in this round.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to invest in cloud-based software that represents the next generation of supply chain planning solutions,” said Jason Tagler, managing member of Camden Partners, the lead investor. “I have tracked Steelwedge for several years and have been impressed with the results the team has delivered. I am particularly impressed by the number of blue chip customers the company has added during that timeframe.”

The investment will be used to accelerate product development, expand sales and marketing, and deliver the highest quality service to the company’s growing customer base. Integral to these efforts is a new office, which will open in Austin, Texas later this year. The Austin office will serve as a technology, sales, and services hub that will enable Steelwedge to better serve the increasing number of customers and prospects in the region. The office will house a large, state-of-the-art R&D Co-Innovation Lab where product managers and software engineers will work directly with customers to push the boundaries of supply chain management forward.

“This new capital positions us well to build on the company’s incredible growth over the past several years,” said Pervinder Johar, CEO of Steelwedge. “We are excited to have Jason Tagler join the board of directors and to leverage his experience investing in enterprise SaaS businesses. This will help us attack the large market opportunity in supply chain management.”

“We selected Camden as our partner based on Jason Tagler’s understanding of our business and our aligned perspectives on building the company in its next phase of growth,” added Jason Payne, Managing Partner of Mainsail Partners.

Steelwedge was ranked #200 on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500™ in 2014 based on the company’s 500% revenue growth in the 2009-2013 period.
