Health and Fitness Expert Samir Becic Promotes Water to the World During an Extreme Workout

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) April 22, 2015

World renowned health and fitness expert Samir Becic, founder of nonprofit Health Fitness Revolution, created an original video in which he reveals one of the key elements to a healthy lifestyle: drink plenty of water on a daily basis. His video message, which was done during his extreme treadmill workout, was created in an effort to motivate Americans to drink more water in order to stay healthy and fit. In the video, he explains how sufficient amounts of water can boost the immune system, reduce your hunger levels, promote weight loss, improve hydration and give you younger, healthier looking skin.

The extreme video features Becic doing stunts not recommended for the public, jogging backwards and changing directions on a treadmill while simultaneously talking about the key benefits of drinking water.

“The rate at which Americans are becoming overweight and obese is increasing at an alarming rate,” Becic said. “The vast majority of Americans are living an unhealthy lifestyle and battling health conditions such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. But the good news is that 60 to 70 percent of those diseases can be prevented or controlled by living a healthy lifestyle. And one of the first and most basic principles to being healthier is drinking sufficient amounts of water.

“Two-thirds of the human body is made of water. Every cell in our body requires water to function, survive and thrive. This is why it is so important to consume at least 10 to 12 glasses into our system a day, but I recommend increasing that number to really get the wide ranging benefits of water in your body.”

Approximately 70 percent of Americans are chronically dehydrated and often mistake feelings of thirst for feelings of hunger. In addition, lack of a sufficient amount of water intake is the No. 1 trigger of daily fatigue. Becic recommends drinking a large glass of water upon waking in the morning due to the fact that the body goes through a period of dehydration overnight. Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning can also boost the digestive and metabolic systems.

In addition to the benefits mentioned in the video, other benefits include improved sleep, higher energy levels and reduced risk of kidney stones.

Leading Sleep Expert Offers Five Modern Day Tips for a Better Nights Sleep

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 02, 2015

While many people find it easy to be mindful of and work toward being healthier by changing their nutrition, exercise and other lifestyle habits, perhaps the most crucial element to a healthy body is often overlooked: Sleep. We spend up to a third of our lives doing it and we will literally die without it. Yet, the sleep aid sections of local pharmacies continue to expand, as an estimated 60 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep disorders and over $ 56 billion and 25,000 lives are lost each year in the US because of sleep-related accidents.

In conjunction with national Sleep Awareness Week, March 2-8, 2015 (http://sleepfoundation.org/events-activities/sleep-awareness-week), sleep expert Karen Schwarzbach has compiled a list of five lesser-known facts and tips for a healthier sleep that everyone can consider and integrate into their lifestyles. Schwarzbach, a respected sleep consultant for more than twelve years who has helped literally thousands of sleep-deprived individuals finally achieve healthy and peaceful sleep patterns, outlines what she considers some of the more unknown sleep problems – and their solutions – that she encounters in our increasingly technology-dependent and high-pressure performance culture. With the recent nationwide integration the Affordable Health Care Act, Schwarzbach’s work has been increasingly in demand as focus on corporate wellness programs now being required by the act (for corporations of a certain size) continue to proliferate.

Schwarzbach, who routinely advocates sleep as one of the “Three Pillars of Health” (along with exercise and nutrition), has outlined the following top five oft-times surprising factors that contribute to modern Western cultural sleep maladies and her corresponding secrets for a better night’s sleep:

Avoid Wine Before Bedtime. It’s a nightly ritual for many Americans – drinking a couple of glasses of alcohol directly before falling asleep. In fact, many people consider alcohol a sleep aid due to its relaxing qualities. But, what many don’t realize is it is also common for pre-bedtime drinks to contribute to one being wide awake several hours after conking out. Schwarzbach explains that while drinking before bed can induce sleep, it actually disrupts sleep and diminishes the quality and depth of sleep, leading to restlessness and frequent wakings leaving one feeling fatigued the next morning. Also, alcohol is a diuretic, which can be dehydrating as well as increase one’s need to go the bathroom, causing one to awaken from slumber. She recommends that if wine or alcohol are a part of your evening routine, try to stop drinking at least one hour prior to sleep to preserve the most deep and crucial stages of sleep.

Avoid Electronics Before Bedtime. Many people routinely attempt to fall asleep immediately after watching television, using their laptops or checking e-mail or using apps on their smart phones. Many people are unaware that these devices all emit low blue light, which is absorbed and processed by the brain and can disrupt or slow down the body’s melatonin production, which influences natural nighttime sleep algorithms. Schwarzbach recommends ceasing the use of all devices at least 1 hour prior to going to bed and not keeping phones and laptops on at the bedside.

Sleep Tracking Devices Aren’t a Cure-All. As increasing use of technology can impair sleep, the recent onslaught of new technology devices and apps that help track and monitor sleeping habits can help improve overall sleep. However, Schwarzbach warns that while these technologies can provide important data, they are often unaccompanied by meaningful and effective behavioral modification programs. Schwarzbach promotes a “High Tech with High Touch” approach, working with her clients to map out routines for remedying problem-causing factors to maximize the useful info that has been gathered.

Daylight Savings Time Can Debilitate. While it may seem like only an hour and of little change to one’s daily schedule, biannual time shifts can dramatically and adversely affect sleeping patterns for weeks – even months – following the clock changes. Even a slight change in the body’s regular circadian rhythm can throw sleep patterns into disarray, an issue Schwarzbach says is often incredibly evident in children. In order to better adapt to these changes, Schwarzbach recommends starting to adjust the time you go to bed and the time you wake up by 15 minutes every couple of days preceding the time change. This way you have helped your body land back where it began when the clock moves forward by an hour in the Spring.

Never Underestimate Sleep Environment. Factors including noise, light, temperature, pillows and mattress and decor might seem like obvious considerations for an optimal sleeping environment, but Schwarzbach emphasizes the importance of considering all five of these factors for improving unhealthy sleep. It could be as easy as taking down a loudly colored painting on the wall, reducing the room lighting to a lower bulb wattage (low blue light), turning the clock away from your bed so you’re not tempted to start doing math in the middle of the night figuring out how many more hours of sleep you can get, using a white noise maker, choosing the most appropriate bedding or decreasing the room temperature to between 65 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit (“Cool is the Rule!”) degrees prior to sleep.

“Insomnia is perhaps the most underrated health ailment in the US and Sleep Awareness Week is a time for self-reflection and education for improving these ailments,” said Schwarzbach. “Our sleep patterns dramatically affect our health, performance and overall sense of well-being. Once people have the tools and information to modify their sleeping habits, they can experience life-changing results within days and weeks.”

U.S. Schroth Method Expert Speaks on Non Surgical Scoliosis Treatment

Boston, MA (PRWEB) February 12, 2015

Dr. Moramarco discussed the goals of three-dimensional treatment for scoliosis according to the newest Schroth Method protocols at the XIX Russian National Congress of “People and Health,” in St. Petersburg, Russia on orthopedics, rehabilitation and prosthetics. Goals of Schroth methodology include improving spinal function, vital capacity and postural appearance, educating and empowering the scoliotic patient, and decreasing pain – if present. Dr. Moramarco also presented the growing evidence in support of scoliosis bracing–specifically the benefits of asymmetric bracing, and of scoliosis-specific exercise as a treatment option for adolescents and adults. Components of the multi-faceted, Schroth Best Practice program® were highlighted. The program includes add-ons to the ‘original Schroth method’ exercises for the sagittal (side-view) plane. These new exercises promote mobilization of the spine and concur with recent evidence (van Loon et al. 2008) which shows that correction forces initiated in the sagittal plane help promote improvement of scoliosis in the frontal plane.

Dr. Moramarco also reviewed new Level I evidence regarding the efficacy of scoliosis rehabilitation therapy from a randomized control study validating the use of self-correction (Monticone et al. 2014). Three-dimensional self-correction is an essential element of Schroth Best Practice® scoliosis exercises. This approach helps promote pelvic recompensation, addresses thoracic and lumbar rib prominences and helps restore the sagittal profile. Dr. Moramarco became the first U.S. physician to be certified in the original Schroth Method, 2007, and is currently the only U.S. Schroth Best Practice® Advanced Instructor.

The presentation highlighted recent evidence on the efficacy of scoliosis bracing, including the benefits of asymmetric (Cheneau) braces versus symmetric braces. The latter, which includes the widely used Boston Brace, have been found to be ‘satisfactory’ at halting curve progression. In contrast, the Chêneau-Gensingen® brace raises the bar when it comes to scoliosis bracing because the asymmetric brace attempts to improve curvature and postural appearance via overcorrection. The scoliosis brace, created by Dr. Hans-Rudolf Weiss (grandson of Schroth Method originator, Katharina Schroth), has a high rate of success, is Schroth compatible, addresses the sagittal profile, and is front-closing and lighter weight for improved comfort and independence. The brace has strategically placed voids which allow for corrective rotational breathing. In the U.S., Dr. Moramarco is the exclusive provider of the Chêneau-Gensingen® brace.

While abroad, Dr. Moramarco also spent four days in Germany, working with Dr. Weiss, and meeting with Christa Lehnert-Schroth, PT, author of Three-Dimensional Treatment for Scoliosis. The three discussed the upcoming publication of Schroth Therapy: Advancements in Conservative Scoliosis Treatment, a book the three spent the past year collaborating on. This new Schroth Method book is an updated guidebook for professionals about the cutting-edge Schroth developments by Weiss. These updated protocols use fewer props than the original Schroth exercises which results in easier learning. Drs. Moramarco and Weiss also assessed 3D scanning systems to be utilized in brace measurement for use with the CAD/CAM system used to custom-design each Gensingen brace®.

Expert Fitness and Personal Training Franchise GYMGUYZ to Burn Calories in Georgia

PLAINVIEW, N.Y. (PRWEB) January 12, 2015

GYMGUYZ, the mobile fitness and personal training brand, recently announced its expansion into Fayette and Coweta Counties in Georgia through an inked deal with local fitness buff and veteran, Aaron Anthonsen. In order to meet the growing demand for quality personal training in the area, Anthonsen will be joining the GYMGUYZ family of franchisees to provide convenient wellness services to more clients and will begin serving his territory on January 12, 2015.

“Our expansion into Georgia represents a major milestone for GYMGUYZ, as the first location to open in the Southeast,” said Josh York, CEO and Founder of GYMGUYZ. “Through our partnership with passionate franchisees like Aaron, we are excited to continue growing with like-minded individuals dedicated to running a business and helping clients of all fitness levels achieve their goals.”

A former Navy veteran, Anthonsen joins GYMGUYZ with a passion for fitness, which began when he started serving in the military. He gained an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor’s of Science in systems engineering. He was then commissioned as an officer and became a Naval Aviator flying Navy SEAHAWK (H-60) helicopters. For the next 10 years, he deployed and flew missions, while still maintaining an active fitness regimen through avid running and participating in marathons. After settling in Fayetteville, Anthonsen began working at a Silicon Valley-based nonprofit research institute while still remaining active in the Navy Reserve. During this time, he helped organize the 2012 Marine Corps Marathon FORWARD, a race for deployed troops overseas. It was while he was training with a group of friends for the physically ambitious Tough Mudder obstacle course, a 10-12 mile challenge designed to test strength and stamina, where his interest in pursuing fitness full time began. After searching for different fitness franchises, he came across GYMGUYZ with the intention of bringing the very first location to Georgia.

“The ambition and culture of GYMGUYZ was really important to me when seeking opportunities in the wellness market,” said Anthonsen. “The brand’s ability to remain fresh, and its focus on innovation, is exactly the type of business I want to bring to my community to help members achieve their fitness goals.

Anthonsen’s veteran status comes on the heels of GYMGUYZ’s partnership with the International Franchise Association’s VetFran program. As part of the brand’s commitment to the initiative which helps returning military members access franchise opportunities, GYMGUYZ offers honorably discharged former service men and women the opportunity to join the brand as franchisees at a $ 5,000 discount. By joining the brand, veterans can take advantage of the rewards and benefits of entrepreneurship, while still receiving strong corporate support from a growing national brand.

“It gives me great pride to welcome Aaron to GYMGUYZ as the first veteran in the system. His experience, strong values, dedication and hard work are the type of characteristics we look for in prospective franchisees when expanding,” said York.

GYMGUYZ brings state-of-the-art fitness technology, equipment and expertise to the doors of its rapidly growing customer base. GYMGUYZ coaches use their expertise to structure workouts that will help each client meet his or her individual needs, tracking progress over the course of a 15-week program.

“Georgia expansion is a great way to start off 2015 and be the catalyst for further brand growth this year,” said York. “With the positive momentum from the new location combined with an aggressive growth strategy in place, we hope to add more units across the state and close out 2015 with an additional 30 signed new territories.”

New Video from Personal Trainer Marketing Expert Bedros Keuilian Explains How to Get More Clients from Facebook

Chino Hills, CA (PRWEB) November 06, 2014

Bedros Keuilian, a former personal trainer who built his business into a worldwide fitness franchise and then became the leading personal trainer marketing coach in the world, has always said that email marketing and Facebook are the two biggest factors in any trainer’s marketing success. His new video explains how to harness that potential, step-by-step.

“Josh Carter, one of the multi-million dollar earners in my Fit Body boot Camp franchise, is one of the most knowledgeable people around when it comes to using Facebook to get new clients and build a fitness business,” says Keuilian. “At our 2014 Fitness Business Summit, he went through his own process step-by-step, and we’ve uploaded that one hour video to YouTube so that others can use his model.”

During the personal trainer marketing video, Carter explains which types of posts garner the most email subscribers from Facebook and then how to market to those email subscribers and turn them into long-term clients. He goes through each step of his own process, using screenshots of his Facebook account and his various squeeze pages as visual examples.

“So many trainers out there understand that Facebook and email lists are extremely important personal trainer marketing tools, but they just don’t understand how to do it and how to do it effectively,” says Keuilian. “Josh has made millions, through both his boot camps and his fitness information products, by using Facebook and for him to walk people through his own methods is a pretty generous and valuable gift.”

By the end of the video presentation, personal trainers will be able to set up a Facebook page for their fitness businesses, create the types of posts that get the most interest, know how to funnel those interested people to an email sign-up list and then how to market to them by using valuable, usable content that builds trust and credibility.

“Most personal trainers aren’t all that knowledgeable about social media, building squeeze pages or creating sales funnels,” says Keuilian. “But if they’re not maximizing the potential of Facebook for getting a steady stream of new clients, then they’re losing a ton of money and working much too hard for every new client they do get. This video removes the learning curve so that they can completely revamp their personal trainer marketing campaigns and start reaching their goals for their businesses.”

New Video from Boot Camp Marketing Expert Bedros Keuilian Announces Importance of Having an Email List

Chino Hills, CA (PRWEB) October 17, 2014

Bedros Keuilian is known as much for his worldwide Fit Body Boot Camp franchise as he is for his fitness and boot camp marketing coaching, but his boot camps became an international franchise largely because of his marketing knowledge. He says that the best thing he ever did in marketing his business was to focus on building and using an email list.

In his latest video on boot camp marketing, Keuilian stresses that building an email list is one of the first things any new fitness entrepreneur should do, whether they’re starting a personal training business or a fitness boot camp.

“The value of a well-maintained and carefully-used email list can’t be overstated,” says Keuilian. “It’s one of the most effective marketing tools there is and the fact that it’s free makes it especially valuable.”

But Keuilian acknowledges that most fitness entrepreneurs are unsure how to go about building an email list and he offers several tips on quickly gathering the email addresses of people in a target market.

“The best means of getting people onto your email list can be divided between offline methods and online methods,” he explains.

“There are a number of ways to start getting a lot of email sign-ups online. Make sure you have an email sign-up on your Facebook page and invite people to sign up to receive coupons for a trial training, body fat tests or nutritional consultation. You can also offer a report on fat loss and ask people to sign up with their email to download.”

Keuilian adds that tagging existing clients in Facebook posts gives entrepreneurs visibility on their clients’ timelines and the opportunity to interact with and get the email addresses of their clients’ friends.

“You can also upload YouTube videos with valuable content like workout tips, healthy recipes, or even full workout videos and have a link to your website where people can sign up for other free content,” says Keuilian.

Offline, Keuilian says that visibility in the community is key to getting people to add themselves to a mailing list.

“Offer training or gift certificates to the owners of tanning salons, health food stores or hair salons in exchange for letting you put a sign-up sheet in their business for a fat loss report or a week of training,” says Keuilian. ‘You can also call area businesses and offer to do a lunch seminar on healthy living, fat loss or whatever other topic you like. Then have people sign in with their email addresses as they come through the door.”

Keuilian explains that using these strategies can add hundreds of emails to a mailing list in just a couple of weeks, and that sending those subscribers valuable content week after week is one of the most effective boot camp marketing strategies there is.

“Deliver value-filled emails nine times out of ten to build trust and get prospects to know and like you. Then use the tenth email to give subscribers a great low-barrier offer and you’ll find that the response will be extremely good.”
